Chose an energy type (acid, cold, electricity, fire, or sonic) when this enhancement is added to a suite of armor or a shield. The armor or shield absorbs the first 30 points of damage of the selected energy type per attack that the wearer would normally take (similar to the resist energy spell).

A suit of armor or a shield with the Greater Energy Resistance enhancement will have an appearance based upon the type of energy selected:

• Acid: A suit of armor or a shield with Greater Energy Resistance (acid) normally has a dull gray appearance.
• Cold: A suit of armor or a shield with Greater Energy Resistance (cold) normally has a bluish, icy hue or is adorned with furs and shaggy pelts.
• Electricity: A suit of armor or a shield with Greater Energy Resistance (electricity) normally has a bluish hue and often bears a storm or lightning motif.
• Fire: A suit of armor or a shield with Greater Energy Resistance (fire) normally has a reddish hue and often is decorated with a draconic motif.
• Sonic: A suit of armor or a shield with Greater Energy Resistance (sonic) normally has a glistening appearance.
